HOW TO ADD A DEVICE TO FIREFOX

This article will walk you through adding a second device (computer, Android phone, iPhone, etc.) to your Firefox Sync account.

Adding a device to Firefox Sync requires you to have set up a Sync account first. If you haven't done that, please see How do I set up Firefox Sync?

    Do these steps in Firefox on a computer that already has your Sync account set up.
    In the Firefox Sync Account section, click on Add a Device and the Add a Device window will open.
  
  
  

02) Enter the code in the Add a Device window as it's displayed on your second device. Then click Next.

03) When the code is accepted you will see a Device Connected message in Firefox and your device will immediately begin syncing. Click Finish to close the setup window and go back to the Sync panel.

 

 

How do I Add a Device when I'm not near my computer?

Do these steps on the device you are trying to add to Firefox Sync.
If you are trying to add a device to Firefox Sync and you are not near your computer so that you can enter the code, you can still get it done by entering your account information.

Add an Android or Maemo device

Do these steps in Firefox on your Android or Maemo device.

1. Swipe left, tap the settings icon and select the Preferences tab
2. Under the Sync section, tap Connect
3. From the Connect to Sync screen, tap I'm not near my computer..

 

 

 

 

4. Next, enter your Account Name (email address), Password, Sync Key and tap Connect
   Your Sync Key is a long series of characters that was created for you when you set up your Sync account. You can find it by following the instructions in Where can I find my Firefox Sync Key?

Add an iPhone

Do these steps in Firefox Home.

1. Launch Firefox Home and tap I Have A Sync Account
2. From the Connect to Sync screen, tap I am not near my Computer
3. Next, enter your Account (email address), Password, Sync Key and tap Done.
   
   
   
   Do these steps on the computer you are trying to add to Firefox Sync.
   
4. At the top of the Firefox window, click on the Firefox button (Tools menu in Windows XP) and then click Options. . In the Options window, click on the Sync tab.

1. Click Set Up Firefox Sync
   
2. Click I Have A Firefox Sync Account
3. Enter your Sync email address and password and then click Next
4. Enter your Sync Key and then click Next
   
   Your Sync Key is a long series of characters that was created for you when you set up your Sync account. You can find it by following the instructions in Where can I find my Firefox Sync Key?
5. You will see a Setup Complete screen. Click Finish to finish adding this computer to your Sync account.
